“Tea with Tae Matcha is pure stone ground and gives my morning cup of matcha the feel of being at a Japanese tea ceremony. The taste is full, smooth and regal.”

Verified Buyer Review on our Matcha Pouch

Oh my matcha. This is premium stone-ground Japanese matcha, vacuum-sealed at the source in Shizuoka, so it reaches you the way it left the farm, not reprocessed months later in a warehouse.

We buy it direct from a third-generation family farm at the foot of Mount Fuji, and every batch is third-party tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contaminants. One 4oz pouch is 56 cups of smooth, L-theanine-rich energy with none of the coffee jitters.

  • 56 cups per 4oz pouch, so three pouches is 168 cups

  • Third-party tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contaminants
  • Hot, latte or iced, and nothing added: no sugar, no filler, no artificial anything

Love it, or we make it right

Every order is covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. Whisk it, live with it, and if the matcha isn’t for you, get in touch and we’ll sort it out.

What exactly arrives?

Three 4oz pouches of Stone-Ground Japanese Matcha, each vacuum-sealed and each good for 56 cups. Nothing else is added to the order, and nothing renews.

Is this a subscription?

No. This is a one-time purchase. You pay once, the matcha arrives, and that is the end of it.

Do I need a code?

No. Pick 2 or 3 pouches and the bundle price is applied for you in the cart. There is nothing to type.

How much caffeine is in it?

The caffeine level is high: 1 to 2 cups of matcha is about the same as 1 cup of coffee. It is rich in L-theanine, which is why people describe it as smoother than coffee.

How do I make it?

Whisk half to one teaspoon into a quarter cup of hot water, top with a quarter cup of the milk of your choice, warmed or over ice, and sweeten if you like with maple syrup, honey or stevia.

When will it get here?

Orders leave our Golden, Colorado facility within two to three business days. The 2 and 3 pouch bundles ship free; a single pouch is $25 plus shipping.

What if I don’t love it?

Every order is backed by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If something isn’t right, contact us and we will make it right.

Why the habit gets expensive

The matcha is never the problem. The five dollars a day is.

You start ordering it out because it is easier. A cafe matcha latte runs $5 to $6, and at one a morning that is the better part of $150 a month, for a drink that is mostly milk and a scoop of powder you never get to see.

Then you buy a tin to make it at home, and it sits open on the shelf for six months. Matcha is a fresh product: once air gets to it, the green dulls and so does the taste. Most people conclude they do not like home matcha, when what they do not like is stale matcha.

So this is the same drink, bought the other way round. Vacuum-sealed pouches, opened one at a time, from a family farm at the foot of Mount Fuji. Take three and the whole thing lands at 36¢ a cup, which is the cheapest good habit in the kitchen.

Tae, founder of Tea with Tae

A note from the founder

“Oh my matcha is what I say every morning, and I mean it. We buy this one direct from the family who grows it, and it is sealed the day it is milled, which is the whole difference between matcha you love and matcha that sits in a tin. Three pouches is one cup a morning, into spring.”

Good to know

Questions, whisked and answered.

What exactly comes in the order?

Pouches of Stone-Ground Japanese Matcha, 4oz each, vacuum-sealed, at 56 cups a pouch. One pouch is $25 plus shipping, two are $45 and three are $60, both of those with free shipping. Nothing else is added and nothing renews.

Is this a subscription?

No. It is a one-time purchase. You pay once, the matcha arrives, and that is the end of it. There is no subscription option on this page at all.

How does the bundle price work?

Pick 2 or 3 pouches and the price is applied automatically in your cart: two are $45 instead of $50, three are $60 instead of $75. There is no code to remember and nothing to type.

How long will 168 cups last me?

At a cup a morning, three pouches is around five and a half months, so an order in September carries you past the new year. At two cups a day it is a little under three months. The pouches you have not opened stay vacuum-sealed in the meantime.

How much caffeine is in it?

The caffeine level is high: 1 to 2 cups of matcha is roughly 1 cup of coffee. Matcha is also rich in L-theanine, which is the reason people describe the energy as smoother than coffee and without the jitters.

Where does it come from?

A third-generation family farm at the foot of Mount Fuji. We buy it direct, it is vacuum-sealed at the source in Shizuoka, and every batch is third-party tested for heavy metals, pesticides and microbiological contaminants.

How do I make it?

Whisk half to one teaspoon into a quarter cup of hot water, then top with a quarter cup of the milk of your choice, warmed or over ice. Sweeten with maple syrup, honey or stevia if you like. About two minutes, start to sip.

How should I store it?

Keep the sealed pouches somewhere cool and dark, and close the one you are using after each cup. Matcha is a fresh product: air and light are what dull the colour and the flavour, which is exactly why these are sealed one pouch at a time.

What about shipping?

The 2 and 3 pouch bundles ship free. A single pouch is $25 plus shipping. Orders leave our Golden, Colorado facility within two to three business days.

Is there anything I should check first?

This is a food, not a supplement, and there is one ingredient in it: stone-ground green tea. It does contain caffeine. If you are pregnant, nursing, taking medication or managing a health condition, check with your doctor before changing what you drink.

What if it’s not love at first whisk?

Every order is backed by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If something isn’t right, reach out and we will make it right.
